Air Purifier Searches in India Jump 103 Per Cent as Winter Pollution Intensifies: Justdial

Air Purifier Searches in India

Air Purifier Searches in India witnessed a sharp spike during the October–November–December 2025 period, rising 103% year-on-year as deteriorating air quality across major metros pushed consumers to seek immediate pollution-mitigation solutions, according to a report by Justdial Limited.

Data from local search engine Justdial shows that searches for Air Purifier Dealers surged pan-India during OND’25 compared to OND’24, while demand intensified further when compared to the preceding July–August–September 2025 quarter.

OND’25 search volumes were nearly six times higher than those recorded in JAS’25, highlighting a sharp behavioural shift in response to worsening air quality conditions.

Air Purifier Searches in India Reflect Rising Urban Pollution Concerns

Delhi emerged as the most affected market, recording a 134% year-on-year increase in Air Purifier searches. Notably, November 2025 search volumes were six times higher than October 2025, reflecting the immediate impact of deteriorating air quality during peak winter months.

Other urban centres such as Gurgaon and Mumbai also registered significant growth, indicating that pollution-linked consumer response extended beyond the National Capital Region.

Air Purifier Searches in India: Mumbai Also Sees Declining Air Quality

India’s winter pollution worsened across multiple metros in late 2025. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi repeatedly entered Severe and Severe Plus Air Quality Index (AQI) categories during November and December, with AQI levels crossing 400 on multiple occasions.

This triggered stricter implementation of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP).

Mumbai, traditionally less impacted than Delhi, also saw declining air quality. Monitoring stations across the city reported Poor to Very Poor AQI levels during peak winter weeks, particularly in high-traffic and industrial zones, underscoring the widening geographic spread of pollution stress.

PUC Testing Searches Rise Alongside Air Purifier Searches in India

Alongside indoor air protection measures, searches for Pollution Under Control (PUC) Testing also showed steady growth, reflecting increased awareness around vehicular emission compliance.

Pan-India PUC Testing searches rose 55% year-on-year during OND’25, with a 4% increase compared to the previous quarter.

Delhi recorded a 38% year-on-year rise in PUC Testing searches, along with an 11% quarter-on-quarter increase, indicating sustained consumer intent rather than a short-term spike. Mumbai also emerged as a key growth market for PUC-related searches during the period.
